Frequently asked questions

Short answers for buyers and for vineyards. If yours isn’t here, get in touch.

For buyers

How does the engine work?

Tell us your region, flavour profile, price point and volume. Our engine searches Australian vineyards and recommends the best fits, including ones most buyers have never heard of.

Why haven’t I seen these wines before?

Just five companies make up more than 75% of Australia’s wine export sales. For smaller wineries, minimum order quantities, export licensing and marketing budgets have made exporting too costly, so their wines rarely reach overseas buyers. We pool several wineries onto one shipment and handle the export paperwork, so you can access wines that weren’t available to you before.

Who are the vineyards?

Our focus is independent Australian vineyards, especially smaller ones that are hard for overseas buyers to find. Many have never exported, because minimum orders, export licensing and marketing costs have kept them out. Any Australian vineyard is welcome to register, whatever its size and whether or not it has exported before.

Can I mix wines from different vineyards in one order?

Yes. We combine them on one pallet, with one order, one contact and one invoice.

What’s the minimum order?

48 bottles (4 cases) per order, and at least 1 case (12 bottles) from each vineyard you order from. You can mix wines from the same vineyard however you like.

How much does it cost?

Each wine shows one price per bottle for your destination, with shipping and paperwork included. The price you see is the price you pay.

Can I taste before I commit?

Yes. Request a sample pack of up to 12 wines, sent as sample vials rather than full bottles. What you pay for the wine in your samples is deducted from your first order of 48 bottles or more, placed within 90 days. Shipping and handling aren’t deducted.

Who handles shipping and paperwork?

We do. We handle consolidation, export documents and shipping, including registering wines for export where needed, and you receive one invoice. We’ll confirm delivery timing when you place your order.

For vineyards

How do I join?

Register your interest on the vineyard page. We’ll contact you to collect the full details.

Does it cost anything to be listed?

No. Listing is free, with no joining fees. We don’t take ownership of your stock.

What are the requirements to be listed?

To be listed, we ask that you:

  • are a recognised, registered Australian vineyard or wine producer
  • have a range of wines available to sell
  • stay committed to fulfilling the orders for the wines you list
  • maintain the quality buyers expect

We recommend your wines to buyers on the strength of what you list, and we act on buyer feedback. Vineyards that list wines they can’t supply, or that receive repeated poor quality feedback, may be removed from the platform.

Registering your interest doesn’t guarantee listing. We’ll contact you to collect the full details and confirm that you meet the requirements.

Do I need to be exporting already?

No. Whether you’ve exported before or this would be your first time, we handle the export documents and registrations.

Which states do you work with?

We work with vineyards in every Australian state and territory. Register your interest and we’ll be in touch.

How is my wine recommended to a buyer?

The engine recommends wines based on what the buyer asked for: region, style, price and volume. A vineyard’s size or marketing budget isn’t a factor. That’s why we reach out before onboarding to collect the details we need, so the engine has everything it needs to recommend your wines to the right buyers.
